
Nebraska's Bailey and Diehl Take High School Texas Regional on Brush Hogs |
15.Oct.2011 (Story & photos by FLW Outdoors) COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Oct. 15, 2011) – Drew Bailey and Adam Diehl from Lincoln High School, Neb., won the High School Texas Regional tournament held on Lake Somerville Saturday. TBF along with FLW Outdoors held the high school tournament in conjunction with the FLW College Fishing Texas Regional. Lincoln High School caught the only five bass limit and weighed 11 pounds, 3 ounces to beat McPherson High, by 4 pounds, 10 ounces. Diehl said the team used Zoom Baby Brush Hogs in watermelon red magic to catch their fish Saturday. “We started fishing Rat-L-Traps and buzzbaits like everybody else but that didn’t work out,” Diehl said. “So we went over to a pocket where no one else was fishing and pitched into flooded timber. Wisconsin’s Chelminiak, Peterson Out-Duel Field to Grab First Place on Kinkaid Lake in Central Regional |

08. CARBONDALE, Mo. – Wisconsin state champions Kyler Chelminiak and Nicholas Peterson of Whitnall High School won the High School Central Regional tournament held on Kinkaid Lake Saturday. The Whitnall High School team recorded three bass weighing 9 pounds, 9 ounces to beat the Indiana state championship team by 5 pounds, 12 ounces. Chelminiak said the team used Mann’s Flippin’ Craw to catch their fish Saturday. “I used one bait and one rod, actually it was a flipping rod, to catch all my fish,” Chelminiak said. “It was slow all day long. Virginia HS Anglers Blanks and Roberts Win Northern Regional, Advance to National Championship |

(Photos & story by FLW Outdoors) September 3, 2011 – Jerry Roberts, Ringgold, Va., and Tanner Blanks, South Boston, Va., from George Washington High won the High School Northern Regional tournament held on Sayers Lake Saturday, Sept. 3. TBF along with FLW Outdoors held the high school tournament in conjunction with the FLW College Fishing Northern Regional. The team representing the state of Virginia had four bass weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces to beat Chariho Regional High School by 4 pounds, 9 ounces. The winning team will advance to the 2012 High School Fishing National Championship for a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship ($5,000 to each team member). “We had a pretty tough day,” said Blanks. “We really had to take our time and fish real deep.
