IFA Kayak Tour Announces Paddle Board Contingency

IFA Kayak Tour Announces Paddle Board Contingency

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - The Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) Kayak Fishing Tour presented by Hobie Fishing will offer a unique contingency program designed specifically for anglers fishing from a paddle board at 2015 events.

In partnership with IFA sponsor Engel USA, any angler that competes in at least two regular-season events, as well as the tour championship, from a paddle board will be eligible to receive a custom Engel Express Angler Fishing Board valued at $1,649. The highest finishing paddle board angler at the championship will receive the Express Angler board in addition to the regular payout.

The popularity of paddle board fishing continues to grow and with good reason. It has a low barrier to entry, the boards are ultra-stable and it delivers a phenomenal workout. It also provides a unique fishing experience and challenge for inshore anglers.

The Engel Express Angler features Hybrid Molded Composite Construction instead of the more common fiberglass and foam method. Every Express Angler board starts with molded fiberglass top and bottom halves, just like a boat. Once cured, the halves are removed from the molds. Stringers are then statically placed and the halves are joined using a specially engineered process resulting in a board with exceptional strength and durability, and one that weighs just 34 pounds, lighter than most imported foam-core boards. Furthermore, because Engel Express Angler boards are finished in gel coat, they are impervious to weather, resistant to warping and delamination.

The fastest-growing kayak fishing tournament trail in the country, the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Presented by Hobie Fishing offers inshore kayak anglers from a multitude of states the opportunity to participate in competitive fishing tournaments. With low entry fees and minimal travel requirements, kayak anglers competing in the catch-photograph-release tournaments can take advantage of the rich prize structure awarded to competitors.

IFA events are made possible through the sponsorship and continued support of these well-respected brands: Hobie Fishing, Ranger Boats, Cabela's, Lucas Oil, Yamaha Outboards, RAM, Berkley Gulp!, Berkley Gulp! Alive!, PENN Reels, Spiderwire, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Power-Pole, Amphibia, Arctic Ice, Protect the Harvest, General Tire, Bob's Machine Shop, SuperClean, Mustang Survival, iON Cameras, Valley Fashions, ENGEL Coolers, Bulldog Folding Trailers, Hildebrandt, T-H Marine, ATLAS, G-Juice Powertex Group, and Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.
