McKendree University Procures the First School Hosted Event of the Year

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – McKendree University took an early stand in hosting an Association of College Anglers sponsored event and secured the McKendree University Fall Invitational on September 27, on Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, Illinois as part of the Cabela’s School of the Year points race for the 2014-2015 season.
As a relatively new collegiate bass fishing team, McKendree University hosted an ACA sanctioned event during the previous spring semester with the intentions of hosting more tournaments and adding more opportunities for schools to earn Cabela’s School of the Year points.
Jon Rinderer, the head coach of the McKendree University Bass Club, stated that “this will be our third time to host a tournament, but this is only our second school run event that will be sanctioned by the ACA and will go towards the Cabela’s School of the Year race. We are thankful for the ACA’s support and think it will help draw more numbers.”
Hosting a tournament that is sanctioned by the Association of College Anglers presents host schools with an additional ten points towards the Cabela’s School of the Year Race. With the McKendree University Fall Invitation being the first sanctioned school run event of the 2014-2015 season, schools are encouraged to inquire more about ACA sanctioning throughout the year. Additionally the ACA and Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series is providing over $500.00 in prizes to this event.
Carlyle Lake is known for its great scenery and recreational opportunities and at 26,000 acres, the lake is also known for producing a lot of fish at times. During the previous Spring Invitational, McKendree swept four of the top five top spots and are most certainly looking for a repeat.
