SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Collegiate Bass Fishing Series got its start with the first college fishing event in the fall of 2006. Since then, collegiate fishing events have taken off in size and popularity. As this year is the 10thAnniversary of the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, it seems only fair to take a look back at some of the influential leaders in the sport from sponsor directors to the anglers themselves in the new series titled Collegiate Bass Fishing’s 10th Anniversary: Then & Now.
The new article series will be recounting the history of the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship and where it is today through the eyes of its creators as well as many of industry sponsors, such as BoatUS, Yamaha, and Ranger Boats. Additionally, professional anglers, such as Jeff Kriet, Kelly Jordan, and Clark Wendlandt, and previous college fishing champions and anglers who exceled in their college fishing careers will be highlighted.
The Then & Now series will be featuring a weekly article on CollegiateBassChampionship.com leading up to the 10thAnniversary event in May on Lake Pickwick for the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship.
