Three IFA Anglers Represent USA at 2015 World Fishing Championship

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL – The Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) congratulates IFA Kayak Tour anglers Steve Lessard, Dave Jaskiewicz and Benton Parrott for qualifying to compete in the 2015 Hobie Fishing World Championship set for Nov. 9-15 on Shang Lake, China. The three-day tournament brings the best kayak anglers together to compete for the Hobie Fishing World Champion title.
In its fifth year, the Hobie Fishing World Championship will bring together 47 international competitors from 19 different countries. Steve Lessard will defend his 2014 Hobie World Championship title. Parrott qualified by winning the 2014 IFA Kayak Championship with Jaskiewicz qualifying by winning this year’s IFA Kayak Tour event at Georgetown.

All competitors will fish for Chinese Perch, Topmouth Cutler and Yellowcheek Carp from identically rigged Hobie Mirage® Pro Angler 14’s, provided by Hobie Cat Australasia and outfitted with Lowrance® Electronics, Power-Pole® MICRO™ Anchors, RAM Mounts and YakAttack measuring boards.

The tournament will be a traditional catch-photograph-release format in which each competitor will enter his or her three best lengths in aggregate each day. The angler with the highest cumulative length over the three-day period will be crowned champion. Prizes will also be awarded to the top team representatives.

The IFA Kayak Fishing Tour presented by Hobie Fishing continues to draw inshore anglers from Texas to the Carolinas with five different divisions, each with a two-event regular season. With budget-friendly entry fees, the IFA Kayak Fishing Tour offers opportunities to compete close to home while keeping anglers’ expenses to a minimum.
